As you probably know, this French manufacturer is in big problem since global crisis started in 2008. Since then, number of units sold was in constant fall for several years. With new models 208 and 308, company finally stabilized. However, there is still plenty of work. The weakest part of Peugeot’s lineup is about crossovers currently. The only model in offer is 5008, which is pretty much an outdated. Company prepares a replacement, which will come as 2016 Peugeot 6008. It is expected to come next year and beside that, we expect few other models introduced.
2016 Peugeot 6008 specs
The 2016 Peugeot 6008 will come as new model. It is a replacement for 5008, which is considered as outdated. Although it will be the same class of vehicles, it will come with plenty of changes, compared to its predecessor. It will come with new platform, probably with the one that is already used for C4 Grand Picasso. However, we will see some modifications, since new 6008 is expected to come also in AWD configuration. When it is about other characteristics of the vehicle, it is expected that new model will be heavily based on SXC Concept, which was presented in 2011.
New model is expected to follow its design language, but also to feature some more conventional details. This concept was presented as hybrid model, but it is expected that 2016 Peugeot 6008 will be available in various variants. Both diesel and petrol engines are expected. They will come in several variants and will be the first units installed on new model. New 2016 Peugeot 6008 in hybrid configuration will not come so soon. It will probably come in next two or three years. Compared to SXC, new model will feature three rows of seats and it is expected that second row will feature a bench with space for three passengers, instead of two seats that we saw on concept from 2011. Rest of details will be known soon.
2016 Peugeot 6008 release date
The exact release date of 2016 Peugeot 6008 is still unknown. According to the latest reports, new model should come somewhere in 2016, but we won’t be surprised if company delay its launch for 2017. The 2016 Peugeot 6008 will be produced in La Janais assembly, where Citroen C5 and 508 are currently produced.
