2016 Nissan X-Trail
The X-Trail is a product of Japanese giant Nissan. It was released as car-based compact SUV in 2000, in the time when several other similar models were launched. Some of them are Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Tucson, Ford Escape etc. While those models stayed in the same class during these years, X-Trail has grown up. Nowadays it is a mid-size crossover SUV. It is in its third generation, which was released in 2013. Since this year is third of its production, we don’t believe that we will see a mid-cycle refresh yet so, it will probably feature the same characteristics as previous-year model.
2016 Nissan X-Trail specs
As we already mentioned, bigger modifications for 2016 Nissan X-Trail aren’t expected. A mid-cycle refresh could eventually come for the 2017 year model. This one will feature pretty much the same characteristics as model that came two years ago. It will ride on the Nissan/Renault Common Module Family. Its design is still in current design language, so it feature many of styling cues borrowed from models like Juke, Murano or Patrol. The 2016 X-Trail will be available in three trim levels – S, SV and SL. When it is about interior, it is possible that company will install new, improved version of infotainment system, which includes new Nissan Connect system. When it is about safety, 2016 Nissan X-Trail will feature cruise control, blind-spot detection, electronic-brake distribution, brake assist, ABS braking and air bags including optional side air-bags as well.

It is also confirmed that hybrid version will come this year. It will come only in Japan, while in other markets it will come probably with 2017 year model. The Nissan X-Trail will be available with 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and Continuously Variable transmission.
