2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC details
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC will come completely redesigned compared to GLK. It will come with plenty of new features and innovations. It will ride on the new modular MRA RWD platform, same that is used for new C-Class, which came last year. Compared to GLK, 2016 GLC will be slightly larger and it will also have a longer wheelbase. These changes were made not only because of better comfort and performances, but also to leave enough space for smaller GLA, which is also a new model. Beside improved dynamics, new platform will also provide more space inside the cabin. Large and comfortable cabin will be one of the 2016 GLC’s main trumps, compared to competitors such as BMW X3 or Audi Q5. New model will come with completely new, C-Class-inspired interior design.
2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC engine
Just like most of the company’s models, 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC will be also offered in many variants, when it is about engine. The base unit will probably be a 2.0 liter engine, which runs new C300, which is good for 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. Current 2.1 liter turbodiesel with 168 hp should carry over. New model will be also available with 3.0 liter V6 engine which outputs 329 hp and 354 lb-ft, which can be found in new C400. There is more great news. It is confirmed that company’s performance division also works on this model, so we expect to see GLC63 variant and new AMG sport model. Hybrid version is also expected to come in near future.
