When it is about luxury SUVs, Navigator is definitely one of the best-known names on the North American market. This full-size luxury SUV was originally launched in 1997. So far, there are three generations of it. Current model was launched in 2007 and it is still in production. Last year, it finally received some modifications, in order to remain fresh until next-generation model comes. This redesign was delayed few times and now it is confirmed that we will see a fourth generation in mid 2016, as 2017 year model. When it is about 2016 Lincoln Navigator, it will come pretty much unchanged and it will feature pretty much the same characteristics as refreshed model, which came last year.
2016 Lincoln Navigator details
The 2016 Lincoln Navigator will come with all of the changes that came last year with the refreshed model. Those included modifications both outside and inside the car. When it is about exterior look, most of the changes are naturally on the front end. It comes with new front fascia, which features a redesigned, slimmer grille and new, reshaped headlights than feature full-LED technology now. Rear end also comes with changes, such as new taillights, which follow those modifications at the front. Big novelty is also that 2016 Lincoln Navigator will come with new 20-inch wheels as standard, while huge 22-inch wheel will be optional.
When it is about interior, refreshed model came with same dimensions, but with many changes both visual and technical. Some of the most-notable features is new touchscreen which finally replaces some, but not all, of those analog controls. The 2016 Navigator will feature an upgraded MyLincoln infotainment system with voice, touch and steering-wheel controls for operating phone, climate, navigation, audio and other functions. Rear view came also comes as standard feature.
2016 Lincoln Navigator engine
As you probably know, refreshed model came with big change, when it is about engine. The former 5.4 liter V8 has been replaced by smaller 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6. This engine which beside better fuel economy also has more power (380 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque), will also run 2016 Lincoln Navigator. It will be paired with 6-speed automatic transmission, with both RWD and AWD configurations.
2016 Lincoln Navigator release date and price
The 2016 Lincoln Navigator will come in next few months. Price will remain unchanged, which means about 62.000 dollars for the base model. This model will be produced until the middle of 2016, when next-generation Navigator is expected to enter serial production.
