This compact luxury crossover is an all-new model from Ford’s luxury division Lincoln. It was originally presented at the 2013 LA Auto Show, while production model went on sale last summer. New model was accepted well, both by the crowd and critics. Although it is still very fresh model, company prepares some modifications for its second year of production. According to the latest reports, 2016 Lincoln MKC will come with few very important changes. Beside expected tweaks in terms of new standard features inside the cabin, we will probably see new powertrain installed.
2016 Lincoln MKC details
This model came last year, so bigger changes are not expected. The 2016 Lincoln MKC will keep its basic characteristics. It will feature the same outside look, which came completely adapted to the brand’s new design language that we saw on new models like MKZ. Just like last-year model, it will come it three trim levels. The base one is called Premiere and some of its most-notable features are Xenon headlights, LED taillights, 18” alloy wheels and power-folding side mirrors. Next one is called Select. It adds features like Power liftgate, panoramic sunroof, while the top model called Reserve will features things like leather upholstery, wooden details, 8-way powered front seats and heated seats for all 5 passengers. The 2016 Lincoln MKC will also feature plenty of hi-tech features. It will come with new MyLincoln infotainment system, Bluetooth, satellite navigation, audio system with 9 speakers, keyless entry with push-start engine, dual-zone automatic climate control etc. The MKC will be also equipped with many safety features like Collision warning with brake support, park-out assist technology, a Lane-Keeping System and Blind spot warning system.
2016 Lincoln MKC under the hood
The 2016 Lincoln MKC will come with big novelties, when it is about engines. Two petrol units will remain. The base one is 2.0 liter EcoBoost with 230 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The optional unit is 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine, which outputs 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of max torque. Beside these two engines, 2016 MKC will also come in hybrid variant. The exact details are still unknown, but it is expected that it will use the same 2.0 liter engine, combined with electric motor. It is also rumored that 2016 Lincoln MKC will come with new 9-speed automatic transmission.
2016 Lincoln MKC release date and price
The 2016 Lincoln MKC is expected to come late this year. Price is expected to remain unchanged, which means in a range between 34.000 and 48.000 dollars.
