The Sorento is a mid-size crossover produced by Korean car maker Kia. It was originally launched in 2002. So far, we have seen three generations of it. Current model came just recently. It made its debut last year in August, in South Korea, while European premiere was at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. North American model finally came this year as 2016 Kia Sorento. Compared to previous model, it comes with plenty of significant improvements. Best new, more attractive styling, it also comes larger, more comfortable, with new engine, much better driving experience etc.
2016 Kia Sorento details
The 2016 Kia Sorento comes completely redesigned. It comes with new platform, same that is used for models like Carnival and Sedona. It comes longer, taller and wider, with wheelbase longer for more than three inches. It comes with either two or three rows of seats configuration. When it is about exterior look, there are no surprises. It completely follows company’s new design language. There are familiar grille and headlights at the front. On the other side, changes on the rear end are more evolutionary. It is pretty much an upgraded version of an outgoing 2015 second-generation model. When it is about interior, 2016 Kia Sorento comes completely redesigned. New cabin has pretty much the same styling as Carnival/Sedona models. It is a family-friendly oriented crossover, with a very high level of comfort. There are new trims, better-quality materials, new seats, and plenty of new or upgraded hi-tech features. The U.S. version of 2016 Sorento is available in five variants. There is base L, then LX, EX, SX and finally Limited (previously known as SX Limited) as top of the line.
2016 Kia Sorento under the hood
The 2016 Kia Sorento is available with three engines. The base one is the same 2.4 liter I-4 with 190 horsepower. The 3.3 liter Lambda V6 will also carry over. This engine is good enpugh for around 290 horsepower. Beside these two already known units, there is also one new. It is a 2.0 liter Turbocharged I-4 engine, which has maximum output of 240 horses. All engines will be paired with either 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, whit FWD as standard and AWD as optional configuration.

Just like its predecessor, 2016 Kia Sorento goes in a wide range. It starts at around 28.000 dollars, while top models could go up to over 43.000 dollars.
