Although Honda used this nameplate from 1998 to 2006, this new compact crossover could be considered as an all-new model. The concept of this car was presented at the 2014 New York Auto Show, while production model was unveiled later same year, at LA Auto Show. For the first time company will have model in compact crossover class, which is nowadays considered as one of fastest-growing segments in auto industry. It will come later this year as 2016 Honda HR-V and it will be largely identical to the Vezel, which is a Japanese version of this compact crossover.
2016 Honda HR-V design
As we already mentioned, 2016 Honda HR-V will be mechanical twin of Japanese-market model Vezel. It will borrow most of the parts from company’s one of the most popular models Fit. Beside platform and other technical solutions, it will also use many same parts, when it is about look. This means that 2016 Honda HR-V will completely follow company’s new design language. It will be pretty much based on Urban SUV concept, but it will also borrow many details from its bigger brother CR-V. It will be a perfect mix of two separate ideas. On one side, it will feature coupe-like appearance, which should suggest its sporty character, while on the other side it will have SUV-like wider and lower body in order to emphasize its strength and stability.
When it is about interior, 2016 HR-V will feature cabin with pretty much same characteristics as new Fit. Interior comes with nice combination of elegant and sporty design. Materials are made of hi-quality materials, while list of standard features is very long. Just like new Fit, it will feature company’s new “Magic Seats”, which are excellent if you need additional cargo space.
