The 2016 Ford Explorer will come with big novelties, when it is about engines. Current optional 2.0 liter EcoBoost will be replaced by new, 2.3 EcoBoost, which is good enough for 270 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. Big advantage of this new engine is that it could be configured to AWD. The base model will use the same 3.5 liter V6, which has 290 horses and 255 pound-feet of torque. The Sport and new Platinum trims will be powered by 3.5 liter V6, which this time comes with turbocharger and outputs 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The 2016 Ford Explorer will go in a very wide range, depending on trim and level of equipment. Base model will cost around 31.500 dollars, while top offers such as Sport and Platinum will start around 44.000 and 53.000 dollars respectively.
