The Durango is a full-size SUV produced by Dodge division of Chrysler. This model originally came in 1998. During this period, we have seen three generations of it. Current model is in production since 2011 and so far it received few updates. So far, company didn’t release any official information about next-year model. The 2016 Dodge Durango will come with two engines available. The base option is 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 with 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Optional engine is 5.7 liter HEMI V8, which has maximum output 360 horses and 390 lb-ft of twist. Both engines use the same 8-speed automatic transmission, which makes great impact on SUV’s overall fuel economy. In order to improve mpg ratings, 2016 Dodge Durango will feature several additional systems like Fuel Saver Technology (cylinder deactivation) or selectable Eco Mode, which can change throttle sensitivity and transmission shift points in order to maximize fuel savings.
